The Francis Report (2013) identified the importance of appropriate education, training and competencies for the registered and non registered workforce and the West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network aims to facilitate study days and training for multi-disciplinary staff within the Network at minimal cost. Additionally, we act as a resource to communicate other educational events occurring locally, nationally and internationally.
The West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network develop and facilitate a variety of courses and study days for multi-disciplinary staff. These include University accredited courses such as Foundations in Neonatal Nursing and Practice Focused Neonatal Intensive Care, both accredited by Keele University at Level 6 and 7.
The cost of our study days depends on the venue and sponsorship. If you book a place on a course and cannot attend please notify us as soon as possible , we often have a waiting list for the days. If you do not notify us at least 48 hrs prior to the study day that you will not be attending you will be charged.
Our programme is tailored annually in response to national agendas, professional interest and in line with our Network work plan.
All Study days are now managed by eventbrite. Please see the education bulletin for links or contact the Network Educators for further information.
The Network AHPs are continuing to run their Therapies in Action Programmes at both foundation and Advanced level. Please contact your educator for details of the most recent courses. Our AHP’s are also available to teach specifically at the cot side, for an individual or group of staff, or to participate in local teaching programmes and courses. They are also available to support projects relating to their disciplines. Please contact them directly click here!
